Essential Oil Steam Co-Distillation of Frankincense, Myrrh and Lavender

Doing a steam essential.oil distillation of myrrh & frankincense resin together with a very special batch of lavender flowers soaked in a 3year old wildharvested honey tinctured from my garden and aged for perfume making.

I soaked the flowers in the honey tincture let them stand to dry out the alcohol and added them to the steam distillation flask with the resins.

Will be a mix of co-distilled essential oils for some fine perfume making. Artisan distilled, using only steam makes for a super refined product, since most essential oil producers use simple water distillation in which the material is cooking with the water in the same vessel and is easily burnt changing the aroma profile.

In this way the oils are kept from cooking and are picked up by the steam as it travels through the upper flask through the material and grabbing its oils along with itself.

Our room smelling super awesome!!!😍✨🌼👑 🙏🌹👃👃👃

A video of the live distillation!

Transformational Scents

Two Eau de Parfum 30ml made as a test batch of the perfume concentrate I composed. Catalyzed with Oil of Copper from Kymia Arts a true master craftsman and alchemist.

The Oil of Copper is Divine material, it smells like a celestial rose and tastes like the heart of hearts.

The base alcohol.for dilution was composed from my own "glorified tincture" of damascena rose with rose hips. The perfume concentrate is a high quality mix of essential oils, absolutes, resins, and handcrafted tinctures.
ABSOLUTES are expensive high-grade perfume extractions from the natural material!

Ingredients include: Jasmine Absolute, Tonka Absolute, Tolu Resinoid, Vanilla Oleorosin, Real Ambergris, Tobacco Absolute, Frankincense essential oil. And more..... 1# and 2# are slight variations on the original mix.

1# Is Feral Jasmine, Dark, Sharp, Penetrating at first. Softens but exudes a catlike feral intensity throughout.

2#is the Light version, warm, seductive, alluring jasmine, beckoning with warm sweet vanilla powdery tones, drying into a sweet warm finish.

From beginning to end as the scent evolves the jasmine scent doesn't fade up to the finish

Due to the Ingredients, these are highly potent perfumes, they exude the living souls of the materials used, they impart messages to those willing to listen or fall deeply into contemplation just smelling the words spelled through the evolution of their scent.

Initiation of A Soxhlet "Soul-Capturer"

So finally I collected all the items I need to setup my soxhlet extractor. Running my first setup extracting Rose Hips & Passion Flowers! Loving it this helps to save up on alcohol and also to create way more concentrated extractions.

Will be creating some powerful Spagyric Tinctures with this Baby. Not only can you create a super concentrated extraction but you can extract an herb in a matter of hours instead of macerating it for weeks on end.

Especially useful for being able to work on some projects, while waiting for others to macerate the gentle way.

So for a quick explanation of what is happening here, we have our lowest flask filled with alcohol 96%. This then boils and climbs up the leftmost tube as vapor and gets cooled down at the top by the water-cooled spiral condenser.

The alcohol then drips down onto the herb and fills up the middle chamber, once it is full the smaller tube empties out the entire mid-chamber back into the lowest flask.

Then the alcohol is distilled off again and what was extracted remains in the flask below, while the alcohol vapor goes back up and extracts the plant material some more. We repeat this until the alcohol in the middle chamber no longer takes on any color from the herb, showing that the material is spent and everything was extracted.

For my more refined projects I am waiting on a steaming-flask which will allow me to steam distill the essential oils and hydrosols of the plants & flowers I work with.

I’ve done steam distillations in the past using a simple method in which I boiled the herbs in the same flask as the water, but it would burn too easily the oils.

I leave you finally with a short video, where you can witness the threshold being reached in which the whole mid chamber empties itself out into the bottom flask.

Love this Moment!

"Glorified Tinctures" of Lavender, Angelica Root and Violet Flowers

"Glorified Tinctures" of Lavender far left, Angelica Root(center), Violet Flowers(right)! The lavender underwent one round of gentle cohobation after it was incubated with its salts for several weeks. Here all elements have undergone a certain degree of purification. The body/salt brought to perfection. The Mercury/Sulphur purified by a gentle distillation and then merging back again onto the fixer sulphur.

The other 2 (Angelica and Violet) were married with their perfected salts and incubated on a gentle heat at 37-40°C but not further refined by any cohobations. Essentially only the Body Purified in this case and used to transform it into a higher state. These are highly potent tools of consciousness and next to that increase the bio-availability of the compounds, rendering them into even more beneficial forms than already present in the plant.

Each resonant to a planetary ruler, lavender under mercury, violets under the moon and angelica the sun.
